Florida HB 457 Bill Intact

Written by | Apr 16, 2011 5:27:40 PM

HB 457 (without further amendment) passed the House third (and final) reading Friday afternoon by a vote of 113 to 0.  HB 457 is done in the House.

The bill preserves all aspects of every current ordinance and provides local governments the ability to adopt stronger than FDEP Model ordinances in the future.  As of July 1, 2011 (the effective date) local governments will be preempted from adopting new sales restrictions.

The Senate is in recess next week but we are watching the Senate preemption bills (606 and 2076) – I’ll keep you posted.

Another HUGE thank you to all!
