Congratulations to Seth Bloomgarden, our December Volunteer of the Month!Seth currently serves as Secretary of the Miami Chapter. Chapter Chair Jayson Koch writes,
Seth Bloomgarden is one of the most dedicated watermen that I have ever known! He sails, he surfs, has event padded on a raft along the coast of Africa, but paddle boarding is his number one, top choice! If Seth is not working, relaxing with his wife, Rinata, or volunteering with Surfrider Miami, you are guaranteed to find him paddling several miles across the Biscayne Bay.

He joined us earlier this year when he relocated to South Florida from New York, where he was active in both the local Surfrider and Waterkeeper chapters. He was very eager to jump in and volunteer with our chapter! Since taking on the Secretary position, he has been on the front lines presenting awards on behalf of Surfrider Miami at the Dream-In-Green, Green School challenge awards banquet in May.
He assisted at many of our cleanup and dune restoration events. However, Seth’s main goal was to establish the new “Members Deals” program, where only Surfrider Miami members receive sweet discounts from a handful of local surf and paddle shops and other retailers, simply by showing their membership card. He took the lead and ran with it. So far, its been a success! The Miami Chapter appreciates Seth’s dedication to our chapter and we thank him for all that he does!
